Ivan Fredette has launched two businesses since becoming sober in 2020
A Fenwick man will be centre stage this week, sharing his story of courage, perseverance and sobriety.
Ivan Fredette is the of multiple businesses. Fredette himself has been sober since Boxing Day 2020, after 17 years of drinking following the death of his cousin by suicide.
Since that turning point, Ivan has built two successful businesses: Safe Tree, a tree care company serving Niagara, and Ironclad Brotherhood, a men’s coaching community helping others take back control of their lives. He’s now using his story to speak to a deeper issue: the pressure men feel to stay silent, stay strong, and keep pushing until they break.
Fredette says he wants to never fall back into his darker past.
Through his business, he eventually connected with Speaker Slam, an inspirational speaking competition happening Tuesday evening in Toronto.
He says being able to help others is what motivates him.
Contestants will compete for a $10,000 prize package, including $2,000 in cash, and a spot in the Grand Slam Finals in November where the title of Inspirational Speaker of the Year is up for grabs.
