Cards are used to help those with autism identify themselves to strangers
A local graphic designer wants to help Niagara-area residents that live with Autism - and is doing so in a creative way.
Izabella Bruton has been designing autism identification cards, a card that fits in someone's wallet that can be shown to someone to help communicate that they're autistic.
She says she originally made these for a college project, and it continued to grow.
Bruton says her younger brother Xavier has autism as well, so she's in a number of online groups with other families that have a relative with autism.
The identification cards help strangers see that someone may have autism, which can include a number of different characteristics, including some people being completely non-verbal.
Sales from the cards will see a portion being donated to Autism Ontario, which Izabella has said is a great resource - and one that her family has used quite a bit.
