As kids head back to school, the temperature of classrooms is something that's top of mind for many - especially after a warmer-than-usual summer.
Canada Research Chair of Extreme Human Environments Toby Mündel says the risk of classrooms getting too hot during September and October is lower than at the end of the school year.
Mündel says while the start of the school year will likely be cooler, there's always a couple hot days in September.
Mündel says that while many schools don't have proper air conditioning, heat can be battled by having proper curtains, ceiling fans or outdoor classes in the shade if the building is getting too warm.
