Today is Volunteer Appreciation Day, so we're taking the day to shine a light on volunteers around Niagara.
One of those is Bruce Krushelnicki, who's been volunteering at Habitat for Humanity Niagara since 2021, working on their kitchen salvage crew, and in the St. Catharines ReStore warehouse, testing tools and electronic devices, and finally as a board member for the organization since 2024.
Bruce has had a long career where served in many different roles over the years - as a professor at Brock University, Director of Planning and Building for the city of Burlington, and Executive Chair of Ontario's Environment and Land Tribunal.
Once he retired in 2018, he looked for opportunities to volunteer, which led him to Habitat for Humanity Niagara, where he enjoys 'getting his hands dirty' and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow volunteers.
