What's Good In Niagara? Polar Plunge this Sunday supports Beyond The Streets in Welland

Bundle up and take the plunge this Sunday in Welland at the Valentine’s Day Polar Plunge, Freezin’ For A Reason.

Proceeds will support Beyond The Streets, an organization driven by volunteers, with a mission to provide compassion, advocacy and support to ensure nobody gets left behind.

They help identify those experiencing homelessness, and help connect people with the services they may need.

Organizer Meaghan Mulcair explains the reason behind this year's Polar Plunge.

For anyone thinking about taking the plunge, Meaghan shared that it is in fact safe, but there are some things to take into consideration.

You don't have to spend a lot of time in the water either. Organizer, Tish Vaillancourt.

Everyone is welcome to come by and cheer on those who will be jumping into the water. You can also buy a t-shirt to help support the cause.

The Polar Plunge takes place this Sunday, February 22nd at the Lincoln Street Docks with registration open at 11:30 am and the plunge at 1 pm sharp.

100 percent of the funds go directly to Beyond The Streets.
